This week’s game was probably the best game we have ever played and were rewarded with a convincing 5-3 win over a team that in our previous encounter had beaten us 6-2. The whole team contributed to the win as we out hustled and frustrated our opponents and took the scoring opportunities that were presented to us. Early in the second half I thought I had doubled my goal scoring tally for the season as I curled a shot towards the top corner only for the keeper to get a hand to it. Just as I was lamenting this miss, Caroline had pounced on the rebound and put the ball past the now despairing keeper and into the back of the net, a classic poacher’s goal. We had a nerve wracking last couple of minutes as we saw a 4-1 lead quickly become 4-3 after two great strikes from our opposition, but fortunately Joey slammed in a late goal to give us some breathing space and a win to be proud of.
