After going the whole of our previous season without a single win it was a great feeling when the final siren had blown and Max Power FC had taken out the second division title with a 3-2 victory. The match was played in oppressive conditions that left both sets of players exhausted by games end. Max Power got off to a flyer and were leading 3-0 at the break courtesy of goals to Joey and Mel and were looking pretty comfortable for the title. That all changed within two minutes of the kickoff for the second half as our opposition pulled back two quick goals, one of them being a rather silly free kick. The remainder of the half was extremely frantic as we looked for a sealer and our opposition looked for an equaliser. However, neither team could find the back of the net and we celebrated our first ever title in what was all round team effort. The win was duly celebrated with a beer after the game.

Earlier in the week, Maxine Power FC (the all girls team) made it the semi-finals of division one but unfortunately went down in their semi-final 8-4.
