There was no rest for the wicked as they say as Max Power FC was straight into the next season. First up opponents were the the First Division Champions so it was a bit like a Charity Shield match as Art put it. We also went into the match severely undermanned in the female player department with Caroline suffering the effects of virus in the lead up to the clash. Irony would have it that we had to seek the assistance of a member of the team that we had beaten the weak before in the Grand Final. It was a good quality match, but our opponents just had a little more petrol in the tank and a late goal gave us a flattering scoreline as we went down 4-3. In terms of goalscoring it was a family affair as brother-sister combination Julian and Mel both found themselves on the scoresheet. Good result considering the hassles in getting a team on the court.
