This was the final match of the regular and much like the end of the previous season, we went out with a whimper against a team that we had beaten twice before during the season. Going into the half time break 1-0 up, it all came unstuck in the second half as our hungrier opponents took advantage of our listlessness to win 3-2. It probably didn’t help that regular goal scorer, Mel, was still carrying an ankle injury picked up a couple of weeks ago and we missed a lot of her drive in attack, although she did set up one goal and managed to bang in a late goal from a reboudn. We did have a chance to pick up a draw right at the death with a free kick after the siren but it wasn’t to be as the kick from Joey went wide.
